English teacher for Malawian women
We are looking for 2 English teachers for our Malawian beneficiaries.
We will supply the syllabus, plus training for the trainer via our teaching partner.
We would ideally like 1 hour every morning, but this could be extended and be 1 hour three times a week.
We have many beneficiaries and would like to divide them into two streams.
Please contact us if you have the time, are willing to make a commitment to at least completing the syllabus, and are excited about empowering women through English skills.
Description
H18 Foundation has been empowering women since 2016. We train unemployed women from Joe Slovo Park Informal Settlement in Milnerton with craft skills, such as crochet and sewing. We provide a safe and comfortable workspace, all material needed to complete the orders, and then purchase the gorgeous products from the ladies.
H18 then sells these handcrafted products to our customers.
Since 2016 we have empowered over 190 women.
Our ladies bring their preschool little ones to work with them, as the opportunities for affordable, quality education are very limited in Joe Slovo, whilst they have been safe and supervised at H18, they were not being educated. Our little ones have grown up at H18 Foundation, and our dream was to have a Preschool where these little angels could have an impactful, nurturing, competitive preschool education, giving them the tools they need to begin their life of learning.
This dream came true when we opened our Mana Preschool in February 2021. Our incredible Principal has created a learning environment sporting the latest equipment and creative materials (all donated by our amazing community) for our two small classes (max 21 per class), and we have seen the progress of our little ones as they thrive in a structured, creative, compassionate learning space. Our goal is to maintain a minimum of 35% scholarship children at Mana Preschool, with the balance being fee-paying students from the surrounding community to create an inclusive school with children from all walks of life learning together and from each other.
When you empower a woman, you empower her family, community and nation.
