More than just a bed! People living on our streets is a sign of distress. At the Haven we offer more than just a bed. For example, we help Roger (in the picture) to end his homelessness! The Haven’s hospitality provides the safe, calm dignified space in support of excellent Social Work towards reintegration. Is the Haven free? Yes and No. It’s free to our guests for up to one month. However, clients of our social workers are required to complete a Personal Development Plan, attend programs in preparation of their reintegration and pay the Haven R15 per day or one hour of chores per day. Money should never be a barrier to access services. The Buy a Bed campaign supports the one month for free. How you can support? Please encourage the homeless to seek help to end their homelessness. Helping a homeless person to continue living on the streets increases his alienation and makes it so much harder for him to even think of an alternative to living on the street. We value your help to end their situation . You can help with volunteering at your local shelter or by your donation in goods or Rands. Any goods in kind donations in excess of Haven requirements will be passed on to others in need in our community. Thanks for your support!

Something went wrong with the payment through Ozow - the money never left my account. I ended up re-doing the payment via EFT. Now I'm not sure whether a duplicate amount is going to be deducted from my account by Ozow at some future date?
