Brownie Points believes in creating meaningful opportunities for growth, and our recent partnership with Alison.com has opened up a world of possibilities for our Social Employment Fund (SEF) participants in The Good Economy. With access to over 5,000 courses through our learning management system, we’re excited to see how education is changing lives.
Brownie Points identified Alison.com as an education partner to maximise digital inclusion and CPD-accredited training for its SEF participants.
Several partners have established learning centres for dedicated learning time, while other participants prefer to use the Alison mobile app to access their courses on-the-go (In fact, almost 65% of users are active on mobile phones).
To date, 129 participants have actively engaged with these resources, and we’ve celebrated the achievement of 128 certificates across a variety of courses from quantum computing to trauma counselling, we’re seeing participants seize the opportunity to expand their knowledge and enhance their skills. Which we love!
One of our Good Economy partners, The Litterboom Project, has embraced The Good Academy in a remarkable way. Josh Redman, from the Litterboom team, shared some fantastic feedback with us:
“We are super excited about The Good Academy, and so far, our staff who have participated are so happy and grateful for this opportunity. They really are loving it! We are using rain days to bring what participants we can into our premises in Durban to offer them a comfortable learning environment. It’s been well accepted, and we will continue this throughout the R3 period, aiming to claim as many certificates as possible!”
This is a testament to the power of learning and the drive to make every opportunity count. We are thrilled to see our partners like The Litterboom Project NPC leveraging this platform to further their mission and empower their teams. As we move forward, we hope to see even more participants pursue their interests and unlock their potential through The Good Academy.
Next year, Brownie Points aims to launch a custom, zero-rated Good Academy platform to empower more South Africans to pursue their learning journey and unlock sponsored certificates. Furthermore, we would like to highlight and empower the knowledge experts in our network (nonprofits, corporate partners, etc.) by publishing custom courses that are focused on the South African context and addressing persistent societal and environmental challenges in an innovative way.
